Goal Statement

I aspire to secure a position as an instructional designer, training specialist, or Learning & Development specialist in a corporate or higher education setting. Through my educational and professional experience, I have developed skills in needs analysis, authoring tools and technology, and assessment and evaluation. I enjoy settings where I can work independently and collaboratively to design and develop tailored learning experiences.

Needs Analysis

In my projects, I've collaborated with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify the core problem, conduct learner analysis, define instructional needs and goals, and establish targeted learning objectives. This process is important to determine the purpose and scope of the learning solution's design and development. I am proficient in using action mapping tools like Miro, Mural, or MindMeister. For each project in my portfolio, you'll find a design document that includes a comprehensive needs analysis.  

Curriculum Development with Authoring Tools and Technology

When developing curriculum, I maintain flexibility in the tools and technology I use, adjusting my approach to suit the specific context, whether it's blended learning, virtual training, or asynchronous delivery. I consider other factors such as transfer context, timelines, available resources, and learner preferences. My proficiency in tools like Articulate Storyline, Rise 360, and Camtasia enables me to create engaging, interactive, and accessible learning experiences.

As a part of my coursework, I designed usability and accessibility tests for learners during the formative evaluation phase to gather feedback and inform course improvements. During my internship, I helped develop survey questions to measure learner satisfaction and performance outcomes. I am eager to deepen my expertise in applying the Kirkpatrick Model, particularly across its additional levels of evaluation.
